Carolyn is off to Paris!
Ascot Vale resident Carolyn Kennedy will swap her bike for a plane after winning a trip to France through the 2007 Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day – Get Sponsored for The Smith Family event.
Carolyn will fly to Europe to watch the world’s most famous cycling race, the Tour de France, after she raised $500 for The Smith Family. All participants who raised $210 in sponsorship were eligible for the draw to win two return economy flights to Paris.
Carolyn was a first time participant in Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day last October, riding the 100km distance – she plans to take part for a second time this year.
‘The ride was tough but is was worth it for the funds I raised to support The Smith Family’ Carolyn said
‘And winning the trip is a bonus – I have not been to Paris since backpacking in the early 90’s, I can’t wait!’
Riders have now raised an amazing $462,000 for The Smith Family. It is not too late to send in your donations. Donations for the 2007 event will close on 31 March 2008, all donations which come in from 1 April will go towards the 2008 event.
Which team took out the highest individual fundraising award? Who raised the most funds as an individual? Who took out the Industry challenges? All will be revealed in the next e-news!
