Congratulations to all riders who took part in the 2007 Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day - Get Sponsored for The Smith Family. The weather alone presented an enormous challenge for you on the day. It was an amazing effort and you should all be very proud! We sincerely hope you enjoyed your experience.
This year the inaugural Melbourne Cycling Festival was a huge success and we have laid the foundations for another hallmark event in the City of Melbourne. Over 17,000 people attended the GO Bike Expo, hundreds of people watched the final stages of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour and many more took part in the other activities offered over the weekend.
Over 14,000 riders took part in this year's Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day, which started and finished in Alexandra Gardens for the first time.
Although the weather was a challenge, it seemed that at the finish line everyone forgot about it pretty quickly and celebrated their wonderful achievements. We are in admiration of every one of you! Read what some of the riders had to say about this year's event on our website.

We have started planning for next year's event already, and we are now seeking your feedback to this year's event, to improve it even more. Your feedback is invaluable to us, so we would like to offer those who complete the survey, the opportunity to win a Volare road bike, thanks to Apollo. The survey will take around ten minutes.
Striking a Pose
Photos of the day are now ready for viewing! Fuse Photography took over 30,000 photos of all the riders during the day. You can also view a trailer and buy the DVD to re-live the day (the link is at the top of the page).
Fuse Photography are donating a percentage of the photo and DVD sales to The Smith Family, so every purchase you make helps more kids on the Learning for Life program.
Merchandise - Don't Miss Out!
This year over 8,000 riders received a Free Event Jersey. The Free Event Jersey is an early entry incentive only (no exceptions).
If you missed out on the Free Event Jersey, you can still purchase the official Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day merchandise.
Orders for the 2007 merchandise will close at 5pm, Monday 4 November - don't miss out!
Learning for Life Kids Finish in Style
This year kids from the Learning for Life program were given the opportunity to ride in the event, giving them a new life changing experience. They are now hooked on riding!
A huge thank you to all those riders who have already sought sponsorship for The Smith Family to help more kids. An incredible $250,000 has so far been raised! We are half way to reaching our target of surpassing the $500k mark for the first time ever in the event's history!
We encourage those of you who have now crossed the finish line to seek donations or make a pledge yourself, it’s not too late!
If you have already sought sponsorship, it is now it's time to start collecting your donations and send them together with your fundraising form to The Smith Family, Reply Paid 10300, GPO Box 10300, SYDNEY NSW 2001.
Don't forget, all riders who raise $210 or more will go into the draw for the chance to win two return economy air tickets to Paris to watch roadside the 2008 Tour de France!

Missing Something?
We still have a few items of lost property in the Bicycle Victoria office. It will be available for collection from our office until Thursday 8 November. After 8 November all lost property will be given to charity. Give us a call if you misplaced something over the weekend.
